Each product and design is different, and as such, the artwork requirements for each order are also different, and this is where we believe we offer a superior service. Based locally to Durham, we can meet you in person to discuss your ideas and work with you, so that the finished item is exactly as you intend it to be, with the minimum of complication. There are also number of different ways that artwork can be applied to items, and this is covered in the Decorations section.
We can either take an initial idea and design artwork from scratch, or we can use your artwork directly, and if supplied in the desired format (normally from a vector based graphics package), there is no charge for final layout work. Artwork supplied in other formats (e.g. desktop publishing packages) or non-vector based graphics packages at low resolution (less than 300 dpi), may require additional work in order to print satisfactorily, which may be chargeable depending on the work involved.
The best possible format in which to provide your artwork in is a vector based graphics program, but we realise that not everyone has access or can use such software. If you are designing your artwork in a package such as Paint or Photoshop, please make sure you set the artboard up at 12in x 12in initially, and set the resolution to 300dpi (dots per inch). If you fill this space with your design, this should be a good starting point. When you send us your artwork, save it as a jpeg at the highest quality possible. If you are working in Photoshop, it may also help if you send us the .psd file as well. If you use any fancy fonts please let us know what fonts you've used.
So, to summarise, if you can, send us artwork as either ....
- a Corel Draw file (.cdr) file
- an Illustrator (.ai) file
- an encapsulated post-scrip file (.eps) file
- a high resolution Portable Document Format (.pdf) file
Alternatively, if you are using a graphics package such as Photoshop / Paint
- Set the artboard to 12" x 12" (see below) and 300dpi
- Save the artowork as a maximum quality jpeg

Finally, if all else fails, just hand draw your ideas, scan them in, and email them over!
