Artwork

As each product and design is different, the artwork requirements for each order are different, and this is where we believe we offer a superior service. Based locally to Durham we aim to meet in person to discuss your ideas and work with you so that the finished item is exactly as you intended with the minimum of complication.

We can either take an initial idea and design artwork from scratch, or we can use your artwork directly, and if supplied in the desired format (normally from a vector based graphics package), there is no charge for final layout work. Artwork supplied in other formats (e.g. desktop publishing packages) or non-vector based graphics packages at low resolution (less than 300 dpi), may require additional work in order to print satisfactorily, which may be chargeable depending on the work involved.

There are 4 basic methods of personalising items, depending on the product, complexity of design and quantity required.

Screen Printing
This is used for printing onto most items and materials where quantities over 20 are required.  The process produces a highly detailed marking that is durable, particularly good for T-shirts

Heat Pressing
This is used for small quantity printing and applying individual names to T-shirts and other leisurewear. The process is just as durable as screen printing but the process is more labour intensive, but the low set-up costs make it useful for applying large print size names or positions onto individual items.

Embroidery
This is used for applying detailed badges or logos to garments where lots of colours are required, or applying small print size individual names or positions.  As the design is made up of stitches to the garment, the process is permanent and can be applied to almost all clothing, however as cost increases with the number of stitches used, this is only really economic for relatively small designs.

Engraving / Etching
Used for personalising onto metal or glass items  primarily, but also some plastics.  The design is marked onto the material leaving a permanent detailed design, but as no colours are applied it is not suitable where any colour detail is required.
